REQUEST FOR PROPOSAL FOR SITING AND DRILLING SUPERVISION FOR SOLARISED DEEP WATER WELL IN NAMAYINGO DISTRICT

Introduction

Habitat for Humanity Uganda (HFHU), affiliated with Habitat for Humanity International (HFHI), is a Christian non-profit organization dedicated to the cause of eliminating poverty housing. Since 1982, Habitat for Humanity Uganda has built, rehabilitated, or repaired more than 40,000 homes, providing simple, affordable shelter for approximately 240,000 people in Uganda. HFHU invites eligible and qualified companies to submit their bid proposal for siting and drilling supervision for a solarised deep water well in Namayingo district.

1.1. Background

Habitat for Humanity Uganda is planning to implement a water, sanitation, and hygiene project at Bukana subcounty in Namayingo district. Habitat for Humanity Uganda intends to utilize part of the funds for the construction of a solarized deep water well for school and community water supply. HFHU therefore wishes to procure the services of a competent company to undertake Borehole siting and supervision. These activities are to be carried out in a manner that conforms to the following principles:

Support to the decentralization process; Institutional capacity building especially at the District, Sub-County, and Community level; Demand responsiveness; Community participation and ownership; and Emphasis on gender responsiveness, and environmental mitigation measures.

The company is required to prepare and execute an investigation in Bukana village. The groundwater abstraction technology option to be implemented is deep boreholes unless otherwise directed by the client in writing.

Habitat for Humanity Uganda therefore invites competent companies to submit proposals for the execution of hydrogeological surveys and drilling supervision for boreholes

1.2. Purpose

The purpose of this assignment is to provide services to assist the client in implementing the Solarised Deep Water well construction program effectively.

2.0. The scope

The Company’s services will generally cover the following: Borehole siting, including conducting reconnaissance surveys and hydrogeological investigations; Drilling supervision in conjunction with District officials and Habitat for Humanity Uganda in a manner that enables skills transfer while observing relevant statutory requirements and Government regulations.

3.0 Mode of application

Eligible and interested service providers or companies should submit sealed bids of their Technical Proposal, Financial Proposal, and other required documents to the Procurement Committee, Habitat for Humanity Uganda, Plot 91, Kira Road, Kamwokya, P.O. Box 9873 Kampala, Uganda before 5:00 pm on 28^th December 2023.
