Habitat for Humanity Uganda (HFHU) is affiliated to Habitat for Humanity International (HFHI), a non-profit and ecumenical Christian Organization operating in more than 70 Countries worldwide to improve people’s living conditions since 1976.

HFHU was established in Uganda in 1982 to help families build strength, stability and self-reliance through affordable shelter. Since then, HFHU has built, rehabilitated, repaired and improved over 40,000 houses in Uganda providing simple and affordable shelter to over 240,000 families.

HFHU has also supported over 2,000 youth to acquire vocational skills, and improved access to clean water, hygiene and sanitation; thereby positively impacting the lives of over 1.5 million people.

HFHU is seeking an individual with the willingness to affirm our core principles and values of Humility, Courage and Accountability, to fill the position of FINANCE AND OPERATIONS MANAGER based at the National Office on Plot 1026, Lukadde Road, Kira Ward.

The Finance and Operations Manager is responsible for overseeing all financial and operational aspects of Habitat for Humanity Uganda (HFHU). This role manages fiscal planning, budgeting, and compliance, while ensuring operational efficiency through robust systems and processes. The position holder works closely with the National Director, Senior Management Team, and Board of Directors to align financial strategies with organizational goals. They will also supervise key staff, including Accountants, IT, and administrative personnel, to drive a culture of excellence, accountability, and compliance with local and international standards. The manager also plays a critical role in ensuring effective risk management, safeguarding, and operational sustainability.

In this capacity, the Finance and Operations Manager will lead collaborative efforts with teams across HFHI, AFR AO, and external stakeholders to implement policies and systems that support the achievement of HFHU’s program objectives. This includes developing financial strategies to meet annual targets, managing donor funds, ensuring compliance with grants, and fostering partnerships with government, donors, and other organizations. Additionally, the role encompasses oversight of procurement, IT infrastructure, and operational risk management to optimize efficiency and promote the delivery of quality services to vulnerable communities in Uganda.
